The reason for conducting breast examinations before and after breast surgery is to check for any breast
conditions
before the surgery and
to treat them first if any issues are found. After surgery, ultrasound is used to thoroughly examine the
implant’s top,
bottom, left, and right sides,
accurately confirming the implant’s position and condition. It is also done to prevent and detect other
complications
such as implant rupture or
seroma early and to take prompt action if they occur.

The Mammotome procedure is performed when abnormalities are detected through mammography or breast
ultrasound.
It is a vacuum-assisted biopsy and excision device that allows for simultaneous diagnosis and treatment,
removing benign tumors without surgery. Using ultrasound guidance, a small incision of 3-5mm is made,
and a needle is inserted to extract tissue through vacuum suction.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia in an outpatient setting, enabling patients to return home
immediately
after.
Post-procedure, there is minimal scarring.
